Method
Cooking the Pasta
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the rotini pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Making the Sauce
- Add crushed tomatoes to the skillet and bring to a simmer. Stir in the heavy cream, dried basil, and dried oregano. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add cooked rotini to the skillet and toss to combine. Stir in grated parmesan cheese, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Heat through for another 2-3 minutes.
Serving
- Serve hot, garnished with additional parmesan cheese and fresh basil if desired.
